We are the Jazzers

Each year we try to go to a couple of Jazz games. They are "our" team! We call ourselves The Jazzers. Haha. Last year for Christmas Baxter got me tickets to see 3 games and a Jazz jersery. Go Jazz!!!

What we did all summer in Boise...

Our first summer we didn't take any pictures! (well I found one the other day and it was a picture of a spider. I don't know! ) So our second summer we didn't want to make the same mistake. We did better. We went to Boise Idaho with Federal Alarms. It was a great summer. A lot of fun! We lived in Meridian for the 4 months of summer. Idaho is a lot like Utah. There was a lot of boating, swimming, and volleyball playing.

Me attempting to wakeboard.

Baxter got really good. Jumping the wake and everything! He's a stud.

He's tough, don't mess!
Don't worry, it took me awhile to figure out what they are doing too. Bump, set, and spike! This is Baxter, Chris Hunter, and Shawn Hunter.

Bryan Adams Concert

We went to Las Vegas to see Bryan Adams perform. It was at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was my first concert, ever! It was a lot of fun. There was this weird guy in front of us dancing and giving us high 5's. We became instant best friends. I unfortunately don't have any pictures of the actual concert but here's a few of us goofing around. We went with some friends and we stayed with their grandparents in St. George. Their grandpa took us to see some Indian hyroglyphics.

On our way to dinner.....

And once again, we get another strange man in our picture. We don't exactly know how we attract them?!??

Conquering the world!

I thought it was a pretty good imitation.

Let me know if you know what it says behind us.

Ski Season

I have one piece of advice to non skiers...To become a skier...marry one. I never skied a single day in my life until I got married. I have learned a lot of different activities because of my wonderful husband. He is very athletic and so he's been very patient and willing to teach me lots of his hobbies which are now mine! We have a lot of hobbies that we do together because of it. I have been skiing for 2 years now and to tell you how good of a teacher I have, I went on my first black diamond after 4 times of going my first year! It felt great. Here are just a few pictures of all the good times on the lifts...

Our First Anniversary

On our first anniversary Baxter took me to The Roof Restuarant in Salt Lake City. We then stayed at The Armstrong Mansion in Salt Lake City. Then my wonderful husband made me a scrapbook of our first year of marriage. It is the best gift he could give me.

Our first Christmas

Our first Christmas we spent it with the Krutsch's. (my in laws) Christmas Eve we went bowling. Afterwards we go back to the house and have Marcie's famous broccoli cheese soup and celebrate Christ's birthday. We have cake and write our goals we want to work on the following year and we see if we accomplished our goals from the year before. Then we open up family gifts. Everyone draws names and then we give them to each other.

He had the best form in the alley!

Sydnie, Myself, and Haylee.

Christmas Day. Baxter's parents gave this to him.

Baxter gave this to me. It's a limited edition picture of the Nauvoo Temple. I love Nauvoo!

Perfect picture. Everything that goes under the tree is red, gold, and green. Nothing else!

Cruisin Mexico

Baxter's company Federal Alarms took us on a company cruise to Mexico. The ports we visited were Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. This was my first cruise. We had a lot of fun. Here are some highlights.

This was on the ship at the formal dinners they had each night. The food was amazing!

We had the opportunity to visit our honeymoon spot. Everyone came with us and we took a 2 hour bus ride. When we got there we went shopping and surfing. If you can't tell from the faces, it was worth the ride!

My first time experiencing the thrill! Don't worry, that smile on my face is because I was winning. I don't know if I actually knew what I was doing but I won $17.00.

One night they had a midnight buffet. Anyone who knows Baxter would know that we would be there in line! (Secretly I wanted to go as well) They had tons of ice sculptures. They were amazing. I had to take a picture of course.

And people want to know why I'm not an animal lover? I don't have to tell you anymore, the picture explains it all!

In Mazatlan we took a bus tour around the city. The city is pretty with all the water.

Continuation in Mazatlan...we did some shopping.

When we were at sea, we had some down time. Shuffleboard is one of our favorite games to play. You can't find them that often. Who says this game is for "old people".

My best friend's wedding

So we went to Tucson, AZ the first summer we were married but we didn't take one single picture. How's that for blogging! AH!!! That's kind of a bummer. Apparently there wasn't excitement. Tucson definitely isn't the most exciting place. So...we are going to jump to when my sister Rachel got married on September 8, 2007. We got married 6 months and 1 day apart. I was excited to be able to attend the sealing ceremony. Doesn't she look so happy?! It was a great day. All of us and our spouses were able to be there. Somehow my spouse is the only one missing from all the action. I don't have any with him in them... :(

Rach and me BFF's! :)

Viva Las Vegas!

For my birthday, Baxter got me tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas. The Venetian Hotel has a theater specifically for Phantom. When you walk in to the theater, it is designed like a theatre in the 1800's. They had the big red velvet curtains, and the balcony had fake people sitting in seats with spectacles. The chandelier was in pieces but when they play the Phantom song in the beginning it twirls and comes together. It was so amazing. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

Sayulita Mexico, Puerto Vallarta

We went to Sayulita Mexico for our honeymoon. It is a small surfer town that not too many people know about. It was great because everything was very authentic and no tourists. The city is absolutely beautiful. We were there for a week. During the week we went hiking, surfing, boogie boarding, and snorkeling. It was a lot of fun, we went back for a second time to visit a year later.

This was along side the beach that we went to everyday. The land is gorgeous.

Our flight landed in Puerto Vallarta and so we took a two hour bus ride to Sayulita. It dropped us off at the town square that was about a mile away from the house that we were going to stay at. They don't really drive cars in the town cause it's so small. So, we got a map where we were and started hiking. The house we had to hike to was up this huge hill. I didn't exactly pack light either. It was miserably fun!

So on the map, it had a picture of where we needed to go in order to get to the house. It showed where we got off the bus, it had a bridge to cross, restuarants to pass, and then there was a random rock we had to pass. This is the rock in the picture. It was the weirdest thing. We just started to laugh. I think it was a map designed for little kids. Thank goodness for that rock or else we probably wouldn't have gotten there.

Swordfish is a popular fish in Puerto Vallarta. The natives would go out fishing all day for them. This day paid off for these guys.
We went on a boat that took us snorkeling to a popular spot. We got to see lots of fish, and I nearly drowned. It was great. While we were on the boat, we saw a whale breach, sea lions and dolphins swim. We really got to see another side of Puerto Vallarta.

The sunsets on the beach were like this everynight! It was never crowded either.

Baxter and I went surfing a day while we were there. He got to be really good at it. I married a surfer dude!

This was the happening place. This was the town square which was where the restuarants, shops, and entertainment took place. A lot of partying at night went on.

Our wedding pictures

We got married on March 9, 2007 in the Bountiful Temple. I always wanted to get married in this temple because it is my favorite temple. These pictures were taken one week before we got married so we didn't have to rush on the day of our wedding. I was glad we did that because we wouldn't have had snow either. So for all of you superstitous people, Baxter saw my wedding dress a week before and we still got married!!!

Our engagement

Here are a few pictures of our engagement pictures. We got them done at the Ogden train station.

Platform 9 and 3/4

Who invited this guy? When we were getting our pictures taken, this guy walks out of a bar drunk, and asks if he can have his picture taken too. We figured why not? This makes a strang memory and our faces captures it all!
