Christmas 2009

This year we had Christmas with Baxter's family. We went to see A Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve. We woke up at 6:00am to open gifts and then we got to talk to Baxter's sister, Haylee, who is on a mission right now. We had a good day. We then went over to my parents house that evening and had dinner and played games with family.

I love Glee! Both CD's are great. :)

Christmas lights 2009

We went to Temple Square to look at the infamous lights they put up every year. We went with Syd, Coe, Lisa, and Daxson. It was beautiful as usual.

The little munchkins

These munchkins are Baxter's little sisters. Aren't they so cute?! Halloween is so fun cause they are still at that age to get dressed up all cute.

Alta View Hospital Summer Party 2009

Alta View Hospital put on a summer party by having a BBQ and then going to a REAL soccer game. It was crazy! The doctor who got the tickets is a soccer freak and was going crazy with his scarf and cape. I didn't know people got so excited for 1 point! Soccer is it's own world.

Gameday

When Baxter heard that ESPN was coming to Provo for gameday he was all over it! We stayed over night in the rain, on the hard ground, and in the cold. This is the parking lot that is across the stadium. As miserable as is sounds it was actually a lot of fun. There were tons of people there. We played games, ate, and just hung out with some friends.

Go Cougs!

So we really love to go to the BYU games. Baxter is attending BYU and so we got student tickets to the BYU football games this year. Nate and Lindsey got tickets with us. BYU had a pretty good season too. (They beat Utah!)

We got this stadium cake pan so to show our love and devotion to BYU we decorated it in the appropriate colors and score. It turned out better than we thought.

It was well worth the 3 hours that it took us!

Montana 2009

In August we went to Montana to see family. We stayed on Lake Blaine with grandpa in his house. We had a lot of fun. We went huckleberry picking, visited Glacier park, saw family, and went swimming. It was a fun getaway.

Some of the many huckleberries we got. On the left is Nora and the right is Maureena.

On our journey home from picking huckleberries we saw the awesome what appears to be a birds nest (personally I haven't seen this big of a bird). Look at how big it is. I was amazed. I swear this belongs in a Dr. Seuss book.

Our treasures....

This is where we went to pick huckleberries. Sarah (Baxter's cousin) took us on boat to get there. Montana is so gorgeous.

You have to love Baxter's shoes. We have the most ghetto outfits on. It's great. This is what we went picking in...and we have still have the shoes for a souvenir. Many thanks to Maureena for the lenders.

This was a rodeo we went to. The Montana state fair is so tiny in comparison to Salt Lake's but everyone loves it. This was my first rodeo that I've been to. My favorite was when they put the little kids on the small horses and they had to hold on for dear life. I couldn't help but laugh.

This was in Glacier park. This is a tree trunk. As you can see it's huge. Glacier park is so green and pretty. We really enjoyed hiking through the park.

One of the prettiest waterfalls. There was a professional photographer taking pictures of this so I wouldn't be suprised if it's in a magazine somewhere....So we took this picture and decided we needed a closer one cause this wasn't close enough so my lovely husband jumps the banister and climbs done to the waterfall and before we know it everyone has that same idea! I don't think we were supposed to do that. But we got our picture!

Bear Lake 2009

I know this may come as a shock to most everyone who has followed our blog before....Yes I am actually and finally posting again! I have come to realize that saving pictures to blog all at once DOES NOT work. Haha. Well, now I have to try to catch up now. In July our family went to Bear Lake and spent a week on Sweet Water. We stayed in a condo and went boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and etc. It was a blast to be with the family. Most everyone was there. This has been a Hawes family tradition for years.

While we were there we got some pretty bad winds and crazy waters! This is someone's boat that capsized into the water. It was pretty crazy. They had to get a crane to pull it out. Not to worry though, everyone was safe.

We are the Jazzers

Each year we try to go to a couple of Jazz games. They are "our" team! We call ourselves The Jazzers. Haha. Last year for Christmas Baxter got me tickets to see 3 games and a Jazz jersery. Go Jazz!!!

What we did all summer in Boise...

Our first summer we didn't take any pictures! (well I found one the other day and it was a picture of a spider. I don't know! ) So our second summer we didn't want to make the same mistake. We did better. We went to Boise Idaho with Federal Alarms. It was a great summer. A lot of fun! We lived in Meridian for the 4 months of summer. Idaho is a lot like Utah. There was a lot of boating, swimming, and volleyball playing.

Me attempting to wakeboard.

Baxter got really good. Jumping the wake and everything! He's a stud.

He's tough, don't mess!
Don't worry, it took me awhile to figure out what they are doing too. Bump, set, and spike! This is Baxter, Chris Hunter, and Shawn Hunter.

Bryan Adams Concert

We went to Las Vegas to see Bryan Adams perform. It was at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was my first concert, ever! It was a lot of fun. There was this weird guy in front of us dancing and giving us high 5's. We became instant best friends. I unfortunately don't have any pictures of the actual concert but here's a few of us goofing around. We went with some friends and we stayed with their grandparents in St. George. Their grandpa took us to see some Indian hyroglyphics.

On our way to dinner.....

And once again, we get another strange man in our picture. We don't exactly know how we attract them?!??

Conquering the world!

I thought it was a pretty good imitation.

Let me know if you know what it says behind us.

Ski Season

I have one piece of advice to non skiers...To become a skier...marry one. I never skied a single day in my life until I got married. I have learned a lot of different activities because of my wonderful husband. He is very athletic and so he's been very patient and willing to teach me lots of his hobbies which are now mine! We have a lot of hobbies that we do together because of it. I have been skiing for 2 years now and to tell you how good of a teacher I have, I went on my first black diamond after 4 times of going my first year! It felt great. Here are just a few pictures of all the good times on the lifts...
